LOC PRO II methodology stems form the latest scientific methodologies in the field of management & innovation. The project’s methodology originates from the concepts of Intervention & collaborative research. In differentiation with the definition of “intervention management research” LOC PRO II seeks to have a planned impact on the primary sector entrepreneurs producing local products. LOC PRO II seeks to improve the management & growth capabilities of the local communities in the intervention areas. A basic assumption of the project is that in modern organisations in local, cross-border communities management & ICT techniques&tools can be used not only as “instruments that serve pre-existing goals; they also shape the content & processes of social change.” Thus through the education of people on management&marketing theories, techniques & tools & through their enabling to integrate & use advanced ICT tools for their everyday business, the project aims to substantiate the needed social change that the partners have recognised in order to foster the support & growth of the local typical products sector.

LOC PRO II tries to directly improve the actions & inter-relationships in the field of local products in the intervention regions & sees further in the development of new models & attitudes of action on the side of primary sector entrepreneurs and of research institutions & local public bodies. Thus, in its most fruitful completion LOC PRO II besides generating a set of ICT, marketing & management tools for the involved entrepreneurs it will also generate a concrete attitude & social change especially on the aspects of ICT & marketing tools integration in the everyday business of local products enterprises as well as on the holistic development through an integrative framework of entrepreneurial activities(e.g. joint development of local product networks, with restaurants serving such products & alternative forms of tourism) helping the involved enterprises foster their growth. In this spirit LOC PRO II finds itself inside a “model of collective action” in terms of both the intervention results & partner cross-border collaboration. The joint development of the project, the parallel implementation of several actions & studies & the strategic analysis & formation of joint strategies & policies for the local products sector define this model of collective action as it is also analysed through the different work packages, actions & deliverables. Finally, to exemplify WP1 involves the project management which is crucial to the overall success of the endeavour, WP2 involves all relevant project & entrepreneur related communication & promotion, WP3 serves to provide the ICT skeleton of the project, WP4 provides the market intelligence to enhance the strategic abilities of the entrepreneurs, WP5 provides the technical professional education & WP6 seals off the effort by establishing the RICTs & seeing through their pilot operation.
